Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Websites for Business website and services. By purchasing a plan or otherwise engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.
Our Services
Websites for Business provides done-for-you website design, content, hosting, business email and ongoing small updates, offered as managed monthly plans (currently 5-page and 10-page plans), as well as custom website projects quoted separately.
Plans, Pricing & Billing
- Managed plans are billed monthly on a recurring basis until cancelled.
- Pricing shown on our website is in USD and may change; we'll give notice before any change affecting an active plan.
- Custom projects outside our standard plans are quoted and agreed separately before work begins.
- Failure to pay for an active plan may result in suspension of your website and hosting until the account is brought current.
Onboarding & Content
After signup, we gather information through a short interview or questionnaire. Website content is prepared using the information you provide, may be assisted by AI tools, and is reviewed by our team before your site is published. You're responsible for making sure the information and materials you provide (including logos, images and text) are accurate and that you have the right to use them.
Revisions & Design Changes
Reasonable small alterations to your website are included as part of an active managed plan. Requests for a substantially different design, layout or scope of work are treated as a custom project and quoted separately.
Website Updates
If your plan includes a specified amount of website update time each month, that time is intended for reasonable updates to your existing website, such as text changes, image replacements, contact information changes and other minor modifications.
Unused update time does not carry forward from one billing period to another and has no cash or refund value.
Major redesigns, new functionality, custom development, integrations, additional pages, ecommerce work or other work outside the scope of your plan may be quoted separately.
Domain & Third-Party Accounts
You may connect a domain you already own, or discuss domain setup with us during onboarding. You remain responsible for any accounts you own directly, such as your domain registrar.
Hosting & Support
Hosting and business email are included as part of an active managed plan. We make commercially reasonable efforts to keep your website available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm EST; messages received outside these hours are monitored and typically answered within a few hours.
Cancellation
You may cancel a managed plan at any time by contacting us. Cancellation stops future billing and takes effect at the end of the current billing period, after which your hosted website, business email and included updates will stop. Full details are in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Refunds
Monthly subscription payments are generally non-refundable once a new billing period has begun. When you cancel, your services continue until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and we do not normally refund unused portions of a billing period or unused update hours. Billing errors and duplicate charges will be reviewed and corrected where appropriate. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for more information.
Website Ownership & Cancellation
Cancel Anytime
There is no long-term contract. You may cancel your website plan at any time. Your website and included services will remain active until the end of your current paid billing period.
Your Domain & Content
Your domain name and any logos, photographs, trademarks or other materials you provide remain yours.
If we manage your domain on your behalf, it can be transferred to you or another provider upon request, subject to any applicable registrar requirements and outstanding domain registration fees.
Your Website
Your monthly plan includes the design, development, hosting and ongoing management of your website.
While your subscription is active, we host and maintain the website for you.
If you cancel your subscription, your website and any email services we provide will go offline at the end of your current paid billing period.
- After 12 completed monthly payments: You may request a copy of the transferable website files at no additional charge.
- Before 12 completed monthly payments: You may choose to purchase the transferable website files using the buyout schedule below. Purchasing the files is completely optional and is not required to cancel your subscription.

The buyout amount is based on the number of completed monthly payments at the time your subscription ends.
What You Receive
Where applicable to your website, the transferable website package may include:
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other website source files
- WordPress website files and database
- Written website copy created specifically for your website
- Images created specifically for your website that we have the right to transfer
- Custom code created specifically for your website
Website files are supplied as-is. The transfer does not include installation, migration, configuration or setup with another hosting provider unless separately agreed upon.
Third-Party Products & Licences
Some websites may use third-party software, plugins, fonts, stock photography, services or other licensed products.
These products remain subject to their respective licensing terms and are not included in the transfer where the applicable licence does not permit us to transfer them.
If a third-party product or service requires its own licence, subscription or account for continued use, you will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining it after your subscription with us ends.
Requesting Your Website Files
Website files must be requested within 30 days after your service ends.
After that period, we cannot guarantee that copies or backups of your website will remain available.
The website file package does not include hosting, email, maintenance, updates, technical support or other ongoing services.
Email Use & Abuse
Email services provided with your website plan may not be used to send spam, unsolicited bulk or commercial email, phishing messages, malicious content, or other email that violates applicable laws or acceptable-use requirements. You are responsible for the activity of all email accounts associated with your service.
To protect our systems, email reputation, other customers and third parties, we reserve the right to limit, temporarily suspend or disable any email account that we reasonably believe is being used for abusive, unlawful or harmful activity, or that is generating excessive complaints, bounces or other activity that may negatively affect our email services. Where reasonably possible, we will contact you regarding the issue; however, we may take immediate action when necessary to protect the security, integrity or reputation of our systems.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use our services to publish content that is unlawful, infringes on someone else's rights, or that we reasonably determine is harmful, abusive or fraudulent. We may suspend a website that violates this section.
Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Websites for Business is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of our services, including loss of business, revenue or data.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
